Envestnet | Yodlee Developer – Incubator Blog Series, Episode #4: Ongoing Impact of Incubator Involvement

In the previous episode of the Envestnet | Yodlee Incubator Blog Series, we discussed how the three days of bootcamp #2 were focused on diving into marketing, finance and law surrounding the FinTech industry. Entrepreneurs gained further insights from a successfully funded FinTech executive during this event.  The developers also had a chance to showcase updates to their products, getting invaluable pitch practice. The received additional feedback on roadmaps and user flow from other cohort companies as well as Envestnet | Yodlee technical experts. This session garnered a lot of positive feedback from the FinTech innovators. This is the next step on the road to the May 23rd Demo Day where they will pitch VCs, financial institution execs, engineers and luminaries on their ideas. Here are some reflections from Cohort 5 members about the latest bootcamp: Missa Mueller, CEO, Zinsur

  • Rich Content. “The latest bootcamp was amazing. I really found the content provided in those three days to be so rich and on-point. We heard from VCs, sales and marketing experts, learned about best practices in PR, and go-to-market strategies. We also got to hear from some pretty impressive folks speaking about their journeys from startup days to very successful companies.”
  • Experts and Mentors. “As a startup company founder, this depth of rich content and access to such a strong set of speakers and mentors was so amazing. We are much farther along in planning our product marketing, re-branding and launch strategies.”

Didier Gaste, CEO , Transaction Connect

  • Community. “We are based in Paris, and we really enjoyed meeting other FinTech entrepreneurs from around the world and have a snapshot of innovation happening in others countries and industries. It was amazing to see how a group of startups ran the gamut in terms of markets they were pursuing.". My biggest takeaway from the Envestnet | Yodlee Incubator so far are the relationships I build with other entrepreneurs, mentors, and members of the Yodlee team. We’ve already started to help each other by sharing our experiences, connections, and insights from product building to fundraising from the right investors.
  • Technical Support. “The tech days at Yodlee HQ were incredibly helpful. We had direct access to Yodlee product managers and the engineering support team, in person. It was incredible to see rows of startup teams, laptops open, with Yodlee team members side-by-side helping us integrate API features directly into our product. The level of support, enthusiasm, and access is unmatched. Yodlee is investing in innovation, and that doesn’t just mean technology; Yodlee is also creating a new way to think about FinTech innovation.”

“Bootcamp 2 was a great opportunity for our entrepreneurs to adjust and refine their product roadmaps and start really drilling down into the tactics they will use to grow their business ” said Envestnet | Yodlee Incubator Director Jeff Cain. “Between now and Bootcamp 3, the Cohort will be further integrating Yodlee’s APIs and building the core features of their products.” With the next bootcamp to be held mid-April, we will continue talking to our entrepreneurs as they build their products, companies, and demos on the road to Demo Day.
