Introducing Envestnet | Yodlee Launchpad: Moving the Incubator to an Innovation Neighborhood

Ever since our company was founded in 1999, Envestnet® | Yodlee® has been at the forefront of enabling cloud-based innovation for digital financial services. Now we’re structuring our innovation initiatives into a new organization called Envestnet | Yodlee Launchpad. The new Launchpad will include Envestnet | Yodlee Incubator (formerly the Ynext Incubator); Envestnet | Yodlee Acceleration, a program designed to help startup customers accelerate their growth through innovative technology and disruptive business models; and Envestnet | Yodlee GarageFest, an annual internal hackathon.

  • Envestnet | Yodlee Incubator is a six-month program for developers and entrepreneurs to launch disruptive products that leverage transactional financial data. Startups have the opportunity to leverage our award-winning platform and receive technical support, mentorship, guidance and exclusive membership in our broader fintech ecosystem.
  • Envestnet | Yodlee Acceleration program offers startups additional opportunities to further grow their business through exclusive events with members of our network of financial institutions, investment firms and industry influencers. Events include dinners with founders, Incubator alumni outings and fintech ecosystem roundtables.
  • Envestnet | Yodlee GarageFest is an annual company-wide hackathon launched in 2011 to generate new product ideas leveraging Envestnet | Yodlee APIs. Employees form teams to develop, collaborate and publish API use cases that culminate in presentations at Demo Pitch Day in India. Selected winners receive cash prizes and resources to take their ideas forward.

The Launchpad also encompasses Envestnet | Yodlee’s innovation partnerships, with organizations like Techstars, 500 Startups, Stanford StartX, ATDC at Georgia Tech, Tyro Fintech Hub, FINTECH Circle, MaRS DD and BlueChilli. The Envestnet | Yodlee Launchpad programs have already fueled significant innovation, generating new API use cases through our internal GarageFest and powering external innovators through our Incubator and Acceleration programs. Envestnet | Yodlee Incubator, under the continued leadership of Christine Loredo and I, have run two classes of eight companies each and it has attracted significant industry and venture capital interest. We’ve also added several of these companies as channel partners. “Consolidating our various innovation efforts into a single organization allows us to focus more energy on driving innovation across the entire spectrum of fintech,” said Bill Parsons, SVP and GM, Data Analytics and Solutions at Envestnet | Yodlee. “Exciting ideas, whether developed internally or externally with our modern RESTful APIs, can come to market faster, creating better products for our customers and ultimately for consumers.” As part of Launchpad, Envestnet | Yodlee Incubator companies participate in three separate bootcamps in Silicon Valley. The bootcamps are multi-day sessions of intensive learning and work, including coding sessions with Envestnet | Yodlee engineers. The program culminates in Demo Day, when the startups pitch to an audience of investors and influencers. For the next Incubator class, beginning Fall 2016, we're looking for startups that want to build apps with our transactional data, especially in the areas of wealth management, financial wellness and data analytics.
